Mercury's Position on E.U. Directives 2002/95/EC and 2002/96/EC
Mercury and RoHS & WEEE
Mercury Computer Systems designs and manufactures high performance computer equipment and software. The majority of the company’s hardware products are boards and assemblies used in OEM products or systems that are out of scope for RoHS. Since most (but not all) of our customers are out of scope, Mercury Computer Systems will follow and manage product related changes that occur during the transitional period of the supply chain and manufacturing processes adjusting to RoHS. While conventional parts are available, Mercury will meet customers’ specifications for original component products. When conventional parts and processes are not available, RoHS compliant parts and processes will be used.
Mercury Computer Systems will continue to manufacture RoHS and non-RoHS products (used in medical devices, monitoring and control, military and other exempt or out of scope applications) as requested by our customers. RoHS compliant boards and assemblies will be assigned new part numbers. The limited number of finished Mercury Computer Systems products placed on the EU the market comply with RoHS as of the July 1, 2006 date based on the server/network infrastructure exemption or other appropriate exemption. Customers should discuss their RoHS needs with their Mercury Computer Systems sales representative.
