Cell Broadband Engine Programming Using Mercurys MultiCore Framework
2-day course ($2500.00)
This 2-day class is designed to teach you how to program the Cell Broadband Engine™ (BE) processor using the function off-load engine programming model. The class provides an in-depth introduction to Mercury's MultiCore Framework, a middleware that simplifies the programming of a heterogeneous, multicore processor without sacrificing performance. By reviewing a set of code examples and then writing your own program, you will be prepared to write real-world applications for the Cell BE processor.

MC/OE Module
3-day course ($1500.00)

This three-day, hands-on course is designed for developers who want to learn to use the MCOE application programming interface (API) in an efficient manner. Speed-complexity tradeoffs are emphasized throughout the course. Techniques for interprocessor communication (IPC) and other multiprocessor methodology are also emphasized. We cover aspects of Unix®, Linux®, Windows®, and VxWorks®-based hosts.

It is estimated that this course typically will save a student four to six weeks of development time!

Optimal Performance and Integration of FPGAs in the Mercury Multicomputer Fabrics
2-day course ($1250.00)

This course shows users how to optimize their applications on the FPGA architecture in the Mercury environment. Fixed-point processing with the Mercury FPGA Compute Node (FCN) Developer Kit (FDK) and the optimal use of FPGA design tools is emphasized throughout the course. Optimization techniques and potential pitfalls are covered.

The FPGA course is designed to work in conjunction with the MCOE course, and the AltiVec PPC course as well, and it is recommended that the three courses be taken sequentially to ensure users obtain the knowledge and expertise necessary for performance improvement in typical DSP applications.

The FPGA, PowerPC and MCOE courses enable users to reduce application development time by weeks or even months. Large performance improvements are demonstrated which can save you significant time, hardware and money.

Parallel Acceleration System Hands-On Advanced Training Course
3-day course ($1500.00)

The three-day Parallel Acceleration System (PAS™) course is an intensive lecture-lab class providing a fast, cost-effective way to develop distributed parallel processing algorithms. The goals of the class are to become familiar with the package, to get a system up and running from installation, testing, prototyping through performance evaluation, and improvement. This training should provide a powerful jumpstart for a development team new to distributed memory parallel processing applications.

PowerPC (PPC) Module
2-day course ($1250.00)

The PowerPC (PPC) course shows users how to optimize the PPC architecture in the Mercury environment. Floating-point processing with the Mercury Scientific Algorithm Library (SAL) and the Mercury PixL image processing algorithm library using the PPC is emphasized throughout the course. Optimization techniques and dangers are covered in detail.

The PowerPC course is designed to work in conjunction with the MCOE course, and it is recommended that the two courses be taken sequentially to ensure users obtain the knowledge and expertise necessary for performance improvement in typical DSP applications.

The PowerPC and MCOE courses enable users to reduce application development time by approximately 30 days.
